When life throws curve balls at you, you throw it back at life. When people around you think, you can’t do anything, you can’t change anything, you prove them wrong by doing something so drastic and shatter the earth. When people take you for granted and don’t give you any credit for all the good and selfless things you do for them, well it’s time you stop doing it for them. It’s time you start doing something for yourself. Over the years, I have realised I am quite a giver. A giver is someone who puts everyone else before them, who doesn’t think of his/her needs, everything comes before you. It’s fine to be this way if your cup is full. It’s beautiful to be this giving person. It’s beautiful to think of others before yourself but then if your cup is empty, you lose your essence. You lose your connection with the world. You lose your sense of purpose and calling. You lose the opportunity to become one with God. And you can only become one with something, if you’re still. If you keep moving around, seeking, helping, desiring, you won’t reach this place of oneness. For you to feel one with creation, you need to become still, you need to stop and observe, you need to stop and stay silent, you need to stop and introspect, you need to stop and sometimes even take some drastic steps. Because you’ve tried it all but you still feel stuck so then you shatter the earth. You shatter everyones dreams around you who were taking you for granted. You stand for truth. You don’t compromise on your values, you don’t be afraid of losing it all. You have to be courageous enough to let go of everything that gives you security. You need to reach the pinnacle of the mountain and be willing to tumble and fall. You might have reached the top, you might even have it all, the comfortable life, the money, the fame, but if you’re yearning for something more, if you’re having even the slightest inkling that there is something more to life than the one you’re living, then don’t be afraid to tumble and fall. Along the way, you will find people who will support you, some good and not so good ones, and sometimes you will be left to rot on your own, you will sometimes only see darkness, you will sometimes feel you’ve reached your destination, only to realise there is no destination to reach, you have been fooled, so then keep tumbling, keep falling, keep pausing if you’re tired but don’t stop moving. Once you’re on this journey of transforming yourself, of becoming something you aren’t sure what either, just stay on the path, the right people and right ideas, and right guidance will come along. Be ready to fail. Be ready to feel like nothing much is happening on some days. Be willing to be by yourself. But trust that you’re being guided that God, the higher power won’t leave you hanging for too long, if your intentions are clear and pure. And lastly, be prepared to lose everything and everyone. People who really love you will stand by you, but you will have to let go off a few to move on this path and that’s the way it’s designed. You can’t cling onto the old people, the old ideas, and the old ways that once gave you comfort and security. You have to be ready to say a nice Good Bye to all of them in the kindest way possible. Because for once in your life, you’re your biggest cheer leader, you’re your biggest support system, everything starts and ends with you. Don’t worry if people call you selfish and self-centered and full of yourself because you’re that.
Stay on the path. Keep Shining. Keep Failing. Keep Crying. Keep Laughing at the madness that life is and if you’re ever in doubt, my teacher says, tell yourself,
You’re in the right place at the right time. Nothing is out of place. Not even a tiny atom. Remind yourself of this thought every single day.
Yours truly,
Miss Light
